The government will approve the framework for the resumption of nuclear power in Italy this summer, Premier Giorgia Meloni told parliament Wednesday. Italy, which abandoned nuclear energy after a referendum in the wake of the Chernobyl Disaster 40 years ago, is looking to use latest-generation small reactors employed by the private sector to return to the power source.
