Multiple sclerosis sufferer takes own life in Italy's 17th assisted suicide

A 55-year-old man suffering from multiple sclerosis committed medically assisted suicide in the northern region of Lombardy on May 18, the right-to-die Luca Coscioni Association said on Thursday. It is Italy's 17th case of assisted suicide. The association said the man had been suffering multiple sclerosis since 1999.
