Nobel Prize in literature goes to Laszlo Krasznahorkai

Laszlo Krasznahorkai of Hungary will receive this year's Nobel Prize in literature, the Swedish Academy announced on Thursday. Krasznahorkai won "for his compelling and visionary oeuvre" in the "midst of apocalyptic terror" that "reaffirms the power of art," said Mats Malm, the Academy's permanent secretary. The 71-year-old novelist and screenwriter is famous for his postmodern and sometimes dystopian portrayals of small towns in Hungary. He has adapted several of his novels, including
