Romania’s Pillar II pension assets rise 33% to over RON 212 billion in Q1

More than 8.51 million Romanians were enrolled in mandatory private pension funds, known as Pillar II, at the end of March 2026, while total assets reached RON 212.55 billion, up by around 33% compared with the same period last year, according to a report published by the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF).
