Ethiopia and Eritrea are deploying troops and military equipment to the northern Tigray region, according to regional diplomats, raising the risk of renewed conflict in the Horn of Africa. The buildup adds to weeks of rising tension, fueled by lingering friction between Ethiopia’s government and Tigrayan forces three years after a war between the two sides ended, as well as spillover from the ongoing conflict in neighboring Sudan.
