Every third woman in the EU has experienced gender-based violence, survey shows

Around 50 million women in the European Union — equivalent to 31 percent of those aged 18 to 74 — have experienced physical violence (including threats) or sexual violence in adulthood, according to the EU survey on gender-based violence (wave 2021), published by Eurostat. The data reveals sharp differences between age groups.
