Australia to recognise Palestinian state, joining UK, France and Canada

Australia has added itself to the list of countries that will recognise the state of Palestine. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese declared this just as Israel is preparing to expand its offensive in Gaza. He said the move would add to international pressure on Israel, after similar proclamations were made earlier by Britain, France and Canada. Canberra is still pressing for a two-state solution, but Mr Albanese is already getting some pushback. Roger Maynard reports.
