USA: CLINTON BACKS COLOMBIAN MOVE TO END CIVIL WAR

(21 Jul 1999) English/Nat U-S President Bill Clinton has backed his Colombian counterpart's efforts to end the civil conflict in Colombia. Although he didn't want to promise any financial aid, during a wide-range press conference on Wednesday, Clinton said the U-S would do what it could to help Colombia achieve peace.
