I can’t be the only one who thinks Mr Collins in The Other Bennet Sister deserved better. Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice depicted Mr Collins (played by Ryan Sampson) as a comic figure, who was obsessed with class and rank. He was socially inept, lacked a great deal of self-awareness, and constantly went on about how he knew Lady Catherine de Bourgh, which ironically failed to impress others. Subsequent adaptations and takes on the beloved Austen novel have continued to perpetuate Mr Collins
