A dangerous driver who killed a pensioner was brought back to the scene in floods of tears by his own mum after she learned he'd hit an elderly man while speeding in his BMW. David Brown was rushing to make it to dinner at his mother's home when he ploughed into 81-year-old pedestrian James Atkinson in his 'powerful' BMW 1 Series . Mr Atkinson had been heading to band practice at a nearby social club when he suffered 'catastrophic' injuries in the collision , and died in hospital 48 hours later.
