A construction worker in India was killed after a mound of soil collapsed on him at a worksite on Saturday (Apr 25). The 32-year-old had been repairing a pipeline in the city of Aligarh in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh when the incident occurred. CCTV footage showed frantic coworkers attempting to dig through the pit with their hands before an excavator operator joined the rescue effort. According to local news reports, his relatives were offered compensation of Rs 700,000 (US$7,432). #
