Urgent tomato health warning as 29 Brits struck down in salmonella outbreak

A warning has been issued over a Salmonella outbreak which has impacted 29 people in the UK since 2023. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) carried out testing which revealed cherry tomatoes from Sicily, Italy , were the origin of the infection. Other countries impacted include Germany, Austria and France. The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control stressed the risk of further infection will continue while contaminated seasonal produce is delivered. According to a new report
