Donald Trump took a moment to boast about surviving his own assassination attempt, during an address at a ceremony honouring murdered activist Charlie Kirk on Tuesday (October 14). The US president said he “made a turn at a good time” as he dodged a sniper’s bullet in July last year, escaping with merely a grazed right ear. As he honoured Kirk with posthumous Medal of Freedom, Trump added: “Charlie couldn’t believe it. He said, ‘How the hell did you make that turn?’ I said, ‘I don’t know.”
