The moderate ex-representative beat a divided progressive field in a newly drawn safe Democratic district in Utah. Former Rep. Ben McAdams is projected to go back to Congress after defeating three progressive opponents in the Democratic Party primary in a new Utah congressional district on Tuesday. McAdams, who served one term from 2019-2021, won his party’s nod as his competition — state Sen. Nate Blouin, former tech worker Liban Mohamed and attorney Mike Farrell — split the progressive vote.
