For many Latino voters, the shift away from Trump isn't about changing beliefs — it's about confronting consequences. When I found out that nearly half of Latinos had voted for Trump in 2024 , I was admittedly gagged. So many Latinos who live in the U.S. are either immigrants themselves, the children of immigrants, or integrally entwined in a community of immigrants, and Trump ran on an explicit anti-immigrant agenda that was even more aggressive than the one he espoused during his first term.
