May 8 (UPI) -- Nonfarm payrolls in the United States increased more than expected in April, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday. Payrolls increased by 115,000 for the month but were down from the 185,000 nonfarm jobs added in March. For the 12 months ending in April there was little net change in payrolls. The Dow Jones consensus estimate for new payrolls in April was 55,000. The health care sector added 37,000 jobs. It has averaged about 32,000 jobs added monthly for the year.
