America’s New Homeowners Are Getting Hit Harder Than Ever
Business
Americans are becoming disheartened by the rising cost of housing, with a recent poll showing that a majority does not believe it will become affordable again, even if borrowing costs drop. As of March, the latest data available on Redfin, the median sale price of the typical U.S. home was $436,705, up 1.2 percent from a year earlier. That was a bigger hike than the year-over-year 0.9 percent increase reported in February, showing that home price growth is once again picking up, worryingly so.
