David Cobham is Emeritus Professor of Economics at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. He was Houblon-Norman Research Fellow at the Bank of England in 1987 and 2001. His main research interest is UK monetary policy, but he has interests in monetary policy and central bank independence in other countries, and a sideline interest in the Middle East. His book, The Making of Monetary Policy in the UK, 1975-2000, was published by Wiley in 2002. He was co-editor of Twenty Years of Inflation
