New Mexico families enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program ( SNAP ) will soon have to provide additional documentation when applying for benefits or reporting household changes, as the state rolls out a new verification process aimed at ensuring benefit amounts are calculated accurately. New Mexico will begin requiring SNAP applicants to verify housing , utility and dependent care expenses starting May 1. State officials say the change is intended to prevent families from
