A U.S.-sanctioned Chinese tanker achieved passage through the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, according to tracking sites, becoming the first oil-carrying ship to do so under the U.S. blockade of Iran. The Chinese-owned Rich Starry had made it through the narrow waterway and was sailing southwest in the Gulf of Oman on Tuesday, according to MarineTraffic.
