Bethlehem lit its Christmas tree in Nativity Square for the first time since the Gaza war, as residents prayed for peace and hoped the city would once again attract pilgrims and tourists. Christians make up only a small minority of Palestinians, yet Bethlehem remains one of the few places in the West Bank and Gaza where Christmas still has a strong presence. Later this month, revellers and worshippers alike will once again pack the square for Christmas Eve festivities. #dwnewsshorts For more
