The UK Government has unveiled a strategy to extend the duration of awards for new Personal Independence Payment ( PIP ) claims, in a bid to slash the backlog of Work Capability Assessments (WCA). The Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) said the goal is to free up health professionals to conduct more in-person assessments and carry out additional WCA reassessments.
