Economy grows by worse-than-expected 0.1% in final quarter of 2025

Early official figures are doing nothing to dispel concerns the economy remains stuck in the doldrums. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has reported growth of 0.1% for the final quarter of 2025 - mirroring the 0.1% figure covering July to September. It measured growth of 0.1% in December, with activity easing following the pre-November slowdown partly blamed on nerves among consumers and the private sector ahead of the budget.
