(15 Sep 1997) English/Nat A new confrontation loomed in Jerusalem on Monday after Jewish settlers took over three buildings in the middle of an Arab neighbourhood in the city's disputed eastern sector Palestinians smashed the settlers' cars before they were driven away by Israeli border police who surrounded the compound to protect the settlers through the night. This latest conflict in Jerusalem came shortly after the municipality approved a new controversial Jewish housing project - even
