An investigation is underway after a toddler drowned in the Ottawa River Friday evening. CTV's Natalie van Rooy reports that Ottawa Police Service Insp. Brian Samuel confirmed a parent called 911 when the child slipped under the water. Ottawa Fire Service deputy chief David Andre says an air support plane and drone helped locate the toddler 40 minutes later. The child was transported to CHEO and pronounced dead, prompting investigations by both the homicide and child abuse units. Subscribe to
