Price Spike Confirmed After Euro Adoption as Hundreds of Violations Uncovered in Bulgaria

The Consumer Protection Commission ( CPCo ) has identified unjustified price increases in 561 goods across Bulgaria , following a series of inspections linked to the euro changeover process. Authorities say nearly 9,000 inspections have been conducted so far, with 863 violation reports issued, meaning an estimated 10% non-compliance rate.
