Singapore recruiting auxiliary cops from Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Philippines, India and China

Singapore has begun recruiting auxiliary police officers from five more countries — Sri Lanka, Myanmar, the Philippines, India and China — to meet rising security needs amid a shrinking local workforce. Such officers make up around 3% of the nation's total auxiliary forces. The Singapore Civil Defence Force will also begin hiring foreigners within the ASEAN region for its Emergency Medical Services arm this month, which includes paramedics. Sherlyn Seah reports.
