A clean-up operation has now begun at an illegal waste site near the River Cherwell, in Oxfordshire. The 150-metre-long trail of rubbish was declared a critical incident by the Environment Agency last November. Now, 30 lorry loads of rubbish are being removed a day in an operation expected to cost at least eight million pounds.
