The Issue: The second week of a government shutdown with partisan debates over health care. Why are representatives and senators still receiving pay when federal employees are not ( “ ‘Schutdown,’ ” Oct. 8)? If we want this shutdown to end quickly, we need to stop paying our representatives and senators during the shutdown.
