The Defense Department and Department of Veterans Affairs have taken steps to make it easier for veterans and their designated caregivers to access military facilities for medical appointments, shopping and more. The departments announced Friday that veterans and eligible caregivers can use a REAL ID compliant driver's license or state identification card to enroll for installation access at a base visitor's center.
