Stricter school disciplinary measures target rising bullying cases

Caning and suspension will be among stricter disciplinary measures introduced across Singapore schools by 2027 to tackle bullying. The Education Ministry outlined nine recommendations following a year-long review, amid rising cases over the past five years. A new online reporting platform will also be launched to manage incidents. Schools will receive clearer guidelines and additional support, including funding and training, to handle cases consistently and effectively. CNA speaks to Assistant
