The United States is reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Mali that would allow American aircraft and drones to resume intelligence missions over the country. The move signals a cautious attempt by Washington to rebuild its operational presence in the Sahel after several years of declining influence in the region. Washington is nearing an understanding with Bamako that would allow American surveillance aircraft and drones to operate over Malian territory again. The primary objective
