'Critical failure': Report fails to answer key questions on women's safety

Sex

A major inquiry into women's safety has found there was a lack of data on sexually motivated crimes against women in public spaces, with its chair Lady Elish Angiolini calling it a "critical failure". The Angiolini Inquiry had previously examined how Met Police officer Wayne Couzens was able to kidnap, rape and murder Sarah Everard in 2021. This report, which is the second part of the inquiry, found that sex offences against women are not given the same response as other high-priority crimes.
