A violent sex offender who broke into a woman’s apartment in San Francisco and sexually assaulted her while she slept is slated to walk free after serving just 11 years of a life sentence. Thanks to early release programs and “good behavior” credits that have expanded under California Gov. Gavin Newsom , Roberto Detrinidad, an HIV-positive felon who sodomized a woman while she slept in 2013, is scheduled to be released from San Quentin State Prison in May, according to the California Globe .
