CNN  —  Academy Award-nominated “Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo reflected on the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community at this time while accepting an honor at the GLAAD Media Awards on Thursday night. Erivo, who was presented the Stephen F. Kolzak Award for “making a significant difference in raising visibility and promoting the acceptance of LGBTQ people and issues,” according to a press release, used the moment to address struggles faced by those who feel frustrated, unseen and sidelined.
