'Seconds from certain death': Survivors of the North Sea tanker crash reveal miracle escape

Flavius Niculescu

Survivors of the North Sea tanker crash have told how they escaped certain death by seconds. One said they had to get into their life jackets or 'get incinerated' as the US-registered MV Stena Immaculate was engulfed by flames. A 59-year-old man has today been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter by gross negligence, Humberside Police said. A series of explosions ripped through the 183m-long tanker as it was anchored in the Humber Estuary. It was around 13 miles off the East Yorkshire coast
