CNN  —  With a Hezbollah-Israel ceasefire on the horizon , an 18-year-old United Nations resolution has resurfaced as a blueprint for ending the war. The Israeli cabinet is set to vote on a ceasefire deal on Tuesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s spokesperson told CNN on Monday, noting that the agreement will likely be approved. The 60-day cessation of hostilities aims to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701, with the hope that it could form the basis of a lasting truce.
