Iceland could conclude accession talks with the EU within “a year and a half” and become its 28th member country, Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir told POLITICO. Iceland will hold a referendum on Aug. 29 on whether to relaunch its aborted negotiations to join the EU.
