Putin Visits Kursk as Russia Claims Gains, Ukraine Vows to Hold Defense

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited a command post in the Kursk region, where he received a briefing from Army General Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. According to Russian state agency TASS, Gerasimov reported that Russian forces had regained control of 24 settlements and 259 square kilometers of territory in the region.
