First direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine on a peace plan that is being pushed by Donald Trump are currently underway in Abu Dhabi. The three-way talks are following President Trump's talks with President Zelenskyy in Switzerland, and separate late-night discussions in Moscow on Thursday between the Russian President Vladimir Putin, US envoy Steve Witkoff and the US president's son-in-law Jared Kushner.
