Washington, D.C., on Thursday sued the Trump administration for the president’s “illegal” decision to send in thousands of National Guardsmen to help with his so-called “public safety emergency.” “No American city should have the US military—particularly out-of-state military who are not accountable to the residents and untrained in local law enforcement—policing its streets,” said D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb in a statement. “We’ve filed this action to put an end to this illegal federal
