Dollar steady on Fed bets and data; Aussie jumps on RBA hike

LONDON, Feb 3 : The dollar held broadly steady on Tuesday as positive economic data and shifting expectations for Federal Reserve policy outweighed concerns about another U.S. government shutdown. The dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of currencies, was little changed at 97.53 after a two-day 1.5 per cent advance.
