Reform UK's Zia Yusuf welcomes Labour U-turn on local elections

Plans to delay 30 council elections in England have been scrapped. The government initially said it wanted to push the elections back until next year to help deliver a reorganisation which will see some local authorities abolished. However, the government announced the U-turn following legal advice. Reform UK had launched a legal challenge against the plans, and that case was due to be heard in the High Court on Thursday. The party's policy chief, Zia Yusuf, welcomed the decision. Live updates:
