Denmark Election: Premier Wins Vote, Fails to Secure Majority

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s party won a closely contested election, setting the stage for difficult coalition talks to secure a third term in power. The premier’s Social Democrats emerged as the biggest party with 21.9% of the parliamentary vote after all ballots were preliminarily counted.
