Japan contributes $14.7M to NATO’s PURL initiative for Ukraine

Japan has officially contributed $14.7 million to NATO’s Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative, marking a new step in Tokyo’s support for Ukraine and its defense cooperation with the Atlantic alliance. The contribution, announced by Japan’s Foreign Ministry on Friday, amounts to 2.2 billion yen and comes from Japan’s FY2025 supplementary budget.
