Firefighters were attempting to contain a large fire in the forest of the Chernobyl exclusion zone on Friday, Ukrainian authorities said. The fire has spread to more than 1,100 hectares, the State Emergency Service reported. Part of the terrain contains landmines, making it impossible for firefighters to access the area, authorities and the State Emergency Service said.
