Russia has classified Deutsche Welle (DW), Germany's international broadcaster, as well as Radio Free Europe, Bellingcat, Reporters Without Borders, and TV Rain as “undesirable organizations.” In Russia, cooperation with such organizations is a criminal offense punishable by heavy fines and, in serious cases, imprisonment. DW Director General Barbara Massing described the Russian authorities' move as a further sign that the Kremlin wants to suppress all freedom of expression in Russia. #russia #
