The Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Humanitarian and Information Policy considered a draft law amending certain laws of Ukraine on regulating the activities of information-sharing platforms through which mass information is distributed. Since it concerns such popular platforms as Telegram, a debate has emerged in the country over whether this is an attempt to restrict freedom of speech and how effective this step could be in countering Russian influence.
