It’s the outcome that most governments say they want: the two-state solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict, allowing the birth of a Palestinian state to live in peace alongside Israel. Sir Keir Starmer will almost certainly announce Britain’s recognition of Palestine as a state. But there's a problem: there is no Palestinian state, there will be no Palestinian state and probably there cannot be a Palestinian state.
