ANKARA President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Aug. 11 said the United Nations needs a significant reform to fulfill its core mission of maintaining global peace and security. In a video message to mark the 80 th anniversary of the UN ’s founding, Erdoğan congratulated the organization, of which Türkiye is a founding member. He noted that since its establishment in 1945, the UN has made “important achievements in securing global peace and security and in advancing international cooperation.”
